Concrete Sky

This is a great image. Making an image of a mundane object, but in a wonderful way. There is beauty in simplicity, and this shows it. There isn't much to this photo but it holds my attention, and keeps me looking. I think the image could use a little more contrast, and the sky could use a bit more blue. But overall I really enjoy this, great work.

This image would be placed in the aesthetically evaluative category because you ask the viewer to consider the beauty of pure visual form. The strongest design elements in this photograph are line and color. (I am sure there could be great texture in the concrete however a blog site is not the best place to be able to see that kind of subtle detail…) The clean, diagonal lines of the concrete provide a sense of movement and energy. The three curved lines soften the image and offer a contrast to the straight vertical line. The texture of the underside of the concrete and the subtle texture of the clouds provides visual interest and depth. Although the concrete takes up the most space in the composition the blue color of the sky has its own visual weight, which balances the image.

hehehe I took an image like this last semester. It's at that small auditorium at GCC. Great minds do think alike!
